Barbell Back Squat

  • Set up a loaded barbell just below shoulder level. Get into a back squat position with your feet roughly shoulder-width apart. Unrack the weight and take a few steps back without losing body tension.

  • Unrack the weight and take a few steps back without losing body tension. Bend from your hips and knees simultaneously to lower into a squat.

  • Use the stretch reflex in your knees to bounce out of the bottom of the squat, then thrust your hips back to the starting position.
